The International Criminal Court (ICC) is reportedly weighing the inclusion of the White House on its list of potential investigations, following allegations of undue influence over the court’s operations.

Rumors have swirled for days that the ICC’s recent issuance of arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and several associates has provoked ire from the US administration. This purported interference, described by ICC insiders as “unprecedented meddling,” has sparked speculation that the ICC might now consider examining potential White House actions more closely.

An ICC spokesperson, speaking on condition of anonymity, hinted at the possibility: “We take all reports of external influence seriously. Our role is to uphold justice impartially, and if any nation or institution, even one as powerful as the United States, attempts to sway that mission, it raises serious concerns.”

Washington’s response has been swift, with White House representatives vehemently denying any interference. “We respect the ICC’s independence,” said a senior administration official. “But let’s not forget that global justice can coexist with diplomatic strategy. We must ensure a delicate balance.”

Yet, many see the White House’s recent actions as an attempt to dissuade the ICC from continuing investigations into Netanyahu and his allies. Political analysts have noted a sudden surge in US pressure on the ICC, including potential sanctions and calls to curtail its funding.

“Justice is not an à la carte menu,” said an ICC insider. “We don’t selectively enforce laws based on political alliances. The suggestion that any administration can cherry-pick who the ICC holds accountable is not only dangerous but also undermines the very foundation of international law.”

Social media erupted at the news, with one Twitter user noting, “The ICC arresting the White House? We thought this was an episode of ‘The West Wing,’ but it seems more like ‘House of Cards.'”

While no official decision has been made by the ICC regarding the White House’s potential investigation, insiders emphasize the need to address the growing concern of political interference. “The legitimacy of international justice hinges on its independence,” the spokesperson concluded. “Anything less risks turning it into a mere puppet show.”
