Denmark has updated its travel guidance for citizens planning to visit the United States, aligning with recent advisories from Germany and the United Kingdom. The Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs now emphasizes the importance of adhering strictly to U.S. entry regulations to avoid potential detention or deportation.
This update follows incidents where European travelers faced increased scrutiny and, in some cases, detention upon arrival in the U.S. Germany’s foreign ministry highlighted that possession of a visa or an ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization) does not guarantee entry, as final admission is determined by U.S. border authorities. The UK Foreign Office similarly cautioned that U.S. officials “set and enforce entry rules strictly,” advising travelers to comply meticulously with all entry requirements.
Notably, Germany issued a specific advisory for transgender and nonbinary travelers due to recent U.S. policy changes that may affect their entry experience.
The Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs advises its citizens to thoroughly review and comply with all U.S. entry requirements before travel. Travelers are encouraged to consult the official U.S. Department of State website or contact the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate for the most current information.
