Recent video evidence has surfaced, challenging the Israeli Defense Forces’ (IDF) narrative regarding a fatal incident involving aid workers in Gaza. On March 23, 2025, 15 aid workers were killed when Israeli troops fired upon their convoy. The IDF asserted that the vehicles lacked headlights or emergency signals and were transporting terrorists. However, footage obtained by The New York Times and verified by multiple outlets, including Sky News, depicts the ambulances and a fire truck clearly marked with activated emergency lights at the time of the attack.

The video was reportedly discovered on the cellphone of one of the deceased paramedics and has been submitted to the United Nations Security Council by officials from the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS). The PRCS has labeled the targeting of aid workers as a “war crime.”

This incident is part of a broader pattern where the IDF’s accounts of military actions have been called into question. For instance, during the 2018 Gaza border protests, the IDF released a selectively edited video suggesting that Palestinian medic Rouzan al-Najjar acted as a human shield for Hamas. Comprehensive investigations later revealed that al-Najjar was performing her duties as a medic when she was fatally shot by an Israeli sniper.

The emergence of this new video evidence underscores the necessity for independent investigations into military engagements and highlights the importance of scrutinizing official narratives in conflict zones.
